TIME magazine partners with the National Automobile Dealers Association to present the Dealer of the Year Award on an annual basis. This award recognizes automotive leaders for their business performance and exceptional contributions to their communities. A panel of judges selects a Dealer of the Year Award finalist from each of the Association’s four regions. The panel then names one winner from among the four finalists. In evaluating candidates, judges consider several business factors, such as customer satisfaction ratings, the financial status of the dealership, new and used vehicle sales, and market share. In addition, judges evaluate nominees on the basis of contributions they make to their community and to humanity.
All Dealer of the Year nominees receive lapel pins and trophies at the National Automobile Dealers Association annual conference. The Dealer of the Year Award presentation takes place during the conference’s opening session.
