As a nonprofit organization, the foundation works to generate private support for educational aspects within the school district. These areas benefit the children and teachers and foster a creative approach to education. In addition, the foundation awards continuing education scholarships to teachers and funds grants for use toward innovative programs.
On June 1, 2015, the foundation’s board members attended the district’s staff recognition assembly and announced the 2015 Grant Award recipients. The foundation received 32 grant applications and decided to award 15 applicants with grant amounts totaling more than $60,000. Since 2001, the foundation has given the teachers more than $913,000 in grants.
